Orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics are the specialties of dentistry devoted to correcting teeth malposition and jaw malformations. Their purpose is to help you regain a functional and aesthetic dentition as well as optimal occlusion.
Orthodontic treatments consist in applying force to one or many teeth with the purpose of moving and repositioning them in order to obtain perfect alignment and harmonious dental balance. When all the teeth are aligned, aesthetics and masticatory effectiveness are at their best. Orthodontic treatments enable you not only to acquire a straight profile as well as a beautiful smile but also to improve occlusion, mastication, phonation, breathing, swallowing and growth. Even though orthodontic treatments are easier on children than on adults, it is never too late to resort to such treatments to perfect your smile.
At the Ghali dentistry, we are always on the lookout for the most recent developments regarding orthodontic materials and techniques, thus enabling us to offer our clients effective solutions that are quicker as well as more discrete and comfortable.
Damon Braces
It’s more than just straight teeth; it’s:
It's More Than Just a Bracket.
Passive self-ligating braces that are much more gentle to the teeth.
High-technology wires that move teeth much faster and require far fewer adjustments.
A clinically proven treatment approach that aligns the teeth and enhances facial aesthetics - usually without extractions.
Invisible Braces (Miniature and Transparent)
Nowadays, fixed appliances (or braces) are 3 times smaller than they were 10 years ago. Furthermore, metallic braces, although still used today, are giving way to appliances with more discrete colors made of sapphire, a synthetic crystal.
Invisible Aligners "Invisalign"
Having made their appearance at the turn of the century, invisible aligners, similar to a little removable plastic shell, are an alternative to braces, threads and rubber bands. This increasingly popular technique is however limited to easy movements. The treatment itself is quite simple. In fact, all you are required to do is wear the aligners permanently (except during meals and brushing) and change them every two weeks.
Ask us if this technique is right for you.
Lingual Technique
This technique consists in attaching little brackets to the inner side of the teeth (on the side of the tongue), thus making them invisible. This technique was developed in the 80’s but has been greatly improved in the past years, thanks to the miniaturization of braces, among others, making them much more comfortable and effective than before. The lingual technique remains the technique of reference in invisible adult orthodontics.
Instant Orthodontics
Porcelain facings constitute a permanent and instant solution resulting in the improvement of the teeth’s appearance by modifying their form, shade and, in certain cases, position.
