Neuromuscular Dentistry

Neuromuscular dentistry helps prevent and heal pain, damage and other conditions associated with bad interaction between movements of the jaw, teeth, face and even posture. By examining not only hard tissue (teeth and articulations) but also soft tissue like muscles and nerves, the neuromuscular approach aims at identifying the ideal position of the jaw in order to maximize its movements.

Traditional dentistry has too often conducted dental treatments prior to taking into consideration issues such as posture, rest occlusion as well as the role of muscles in mastication. At our clinic, on the contrary, we complete a series of tests on the jaw before completing any intervention, whether it is a treatment against jaw, face or neck pain or even orthodontic, restoration or aesthetic treatments.

If you suffer from one of the following ailments or conditions, consider contacting us before resorting to painkillers:

• Headaches or migraines
• Ringing in the ears or blocked up ears
• Jaw, neck or shoulder pain
• Squeaking jaws or clicking articulations
• Difficulty swallowing
• Excessive snoring
• Sensitive or painful teeth
• Clenching or grinding of damaged teeth
• Limited opening of the mouth
• Numbness of the tip of the fingers

Do not hesitate to contact us to find out if neuromuscular dentistry can help you rid yourself of pain.

Thanks to his training at the Las Vegas Institute For Advanced Dental Studies, Dr Ghali is now a neuromuscular dentistry leader in Québec.
